Our lets play and video monetization policy

We encourage all our users (content creators, gamers, and other parts of the community) to make videos using Black forest games’s game content, such as playthroughs, instruction videos or just plain fun movies. We are fine with you publishing said content to your website or YouTube or similar video-sharing services.

Here is what we don’t want:

We’re not fine with taking assets from our games (e.g. voice, music, items, artworks) and distributing those separately.
We are also not fine with you publishing content AHEAD of the official release of our games and any potential DLCs of said games.
- Exceptions to this are:
  - The game is on Steam Early Access
  - There is an ongoing public beta and Black Forest Games gave the official “go” on the footage thereof
  - There is an agreement between the content creator (you) and Black Forest Games (us) in place, either directly or via third parties (agencies, talent management etc.)
  - If there is early access via a preorder incentive on PC or console platforms)

Use of our content in videos must be of non-commercial nature. By that we mean you are not allowed to charge users to view or access your videos. You also can’t sell or license your videos to others for payment of any kind.

You are free to monetize your videos via the YouTube partner program and similar programs on other video-sharing sites. Please don’t ask us to write to YouTube and tell them it’s fine with us to post a particular video using Black Forest Games’s content or to reply to every single inquiry we get about it, as it is impossible to respond to each such request. Instead, feel free to point others to this page.

Of course, this policy applies only to Black Forest Games’s own content. If you include someone else’s content in your video, such as music, you will have to get permission from the respective owner.

Though we don’t see it as a prerequisite for this permission, we would be euphoric if you were to include a link either to our official website (https://black-forest-games.com), our social media channels links, or a buy link in the video description:
